Homage to the Stars!
For those lesser mortals who have failed to catch up on the previous Star Wars episodes..I beg of thee please go and watch Episode 3 : Revenge of the Sith.
Reasons why Star Wars is the baap of all Hindi films:
1) The hero (Luke Skywalker) and his fraternal twin (Princess Leia) get separated at birth. They are brought up without the knowledge of each other's existence.
2) The scene in Episode 6 where Princess Leia and Luke save Han Solo from the clutches of Jabba the hut reminds me of Sholay.
3) Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia despite being fraternal twins are brought up in extremely diverse lifestyles..like Ram aur Shyam, Sita aur Gita.
4) Darth Vader is the father of the heroine(& hero in this case).
5) Darth Vader epitomizes all evil as the Dark Lord.
6) Princess Leia's outfit in Episode 6, at Jabba the Hut's den reminds me of the outfits worn by our Hindi film heroines, at the cabaret held at the villain's den, before they rescue the hero, or the hero's family from the clutches of the evil villain.
Well these were some trivia bout Episodes 4,5 & 6 : Star Wars - the BAAP of all films!

a case of hollywood being inspired by our own bollywood? *GRIN*

u must watch star wars
I just watched Revenge of the Sith and loved it.
The most sad moment in the film is when Anakin takes that final step to the dark side.
I have written about this in my journal too....its almost like it was destined for him to go over to the dark side.
The visions he has about Padme's death creates the insecurity within him and forms the main motivation to seek the powers the dark side offers.
Of course ironically it is the very fact that he crosses over to the dark side that ultimately kills Padme.
Sad but true.....
*applauding*
finally!
some1 who loves star wars like i do
im glad u grasped the essence of this movie.
the ending is sad but beautifully crafted.
the direction is simply amazing.
i loved the episodes 4,5&6 n i didnt like 2 much.but i must say 3 is awesome.

@tabs. nah!sorry, you may not know my name, no offense.:)
but...
i like you blog.
@goodwill.
yes, i agree, braveheart was an awesome movie. and very much real and simple too. but i guess some of us will always enjoy tubelight fighting and some will not. but its fun to let ones imagination run wild rather be bound to our rather less than magical lives.
yaar, now if you tell me you dont like 'The matrix' and 'The lord of the Rings' you will really break my heart! :((
ahem
i like YOUR* blog!!
goddamn typos..:|
still haven't seen episode 3. ill go for it next week. but i was really hoping to catch up on the all the previous movies before i see the final one. or better yet. watch episodes 4,5 n 6 after i see the third. anyways, later! :)
i love star wars and i think these movies are awesome.
its definitely not like star trek or any dumb sci fi movie.
the prob is that ppl get turned off star wars by hearing bout other sci fi disaster films.
but id say star wars is somethin like LOR.
if u like LOR ud def like star wars
:(
I haven't seen a single Star Wars Movie and have no intentions of seeing in the future (isn't that an ironic statement), but your post was really funny and filmy...:)
thats bad
thank u righton!
hi!!
cool blog,,, and me among the star wars uninitiated team;)
@goodwill
I agree with you on that one....
Esp. for someone who has read the book the movie does not even come close to the sheer imagery of the book.
As for the Matrix ...while one may initially be enamoured by the SFX it kinda gets monotonous after a while.
In any case I find this whole thing about machines taking over a little ridiculous actually.
I would love to spar with anyone on this topic!
@Goodwill
As far as Star Wars is concerned I guess the movie is much more than just a lot of action or Sci Fi.
Its only the setting and the time of the movie that is futuristic....otherwise the movie is ultimately a story of human emotions....greed....fear....and of course all the manipulation that we see almost everyday.
In fact you must have already heard of the parallels drawn between Episode 3 and President Bush's war on terror!
Lord of the rings/ Star wars / The Matrix .. or for that matter any Sci Fi movie... is usually not a documentary on the mechanics of tubelight swords, or why they are cool.
They normally convey the same story as any Braveheart or Gladiator, so for those of my friends who have skipped sci-fi for the simple reason that it seems too out of this world.. maybe another look would be a good idea :) i promise if you can look beyond the premise (rightly said by alex) the stories are indeed very human and have enough emotion. They are more like metaphors..using fiction to look at the same stories in imaginative ways.
Star wars: revenge of the sith is my favourite of the new trilogy... ive seen it once and will probably go see it again this week! however the old trilogy (4,5,6) are a class apart....so i feel
I LOVE U GUYS!
my thoughts exactly!
i second every word .:j:. said!
tabs :) yes i am on a break.. and i wouldnt have commented if it wasnt a discussion about three of my favorite movies.. but this was just too tempting.
i will most likely return by the end of this week.. with a new Journey
take care till then! and may the force be with you....
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU TOO!
:-) Thats an interesting view of Star Wars...me not a fan of this movie..havent seen a single one. Does it really deserve all the hype?
another star wars fan , huh?
well.. i have seen only the first three episodes.. and i liked teh latest one the most. teh way lucas built up the charater of darth vader.
now.. off to the last three episodes. i have been waiting for this long.
have to say, a nice ending to this hexology.. unlike others like matrix where they usually screw up the ending.
